Kim Kardashian has been in Australia this week to promote her… stuff. God knows. I think she’s promoting the reality show, her clothing line, and one of her perfumes. I always forget that she has perfumes too. Are any of them “hits”? I’m asking because I still love Jennifer Lopez’s Glow and I am unashamed. I will wear a celebrity perfume if it’s a good scent, but nothing about Eau de Kardashian strikes me as a pleasing smell. Anyway, these are photos of her launch of her perfume Fleur Fatale (fatal flower? LOL) in Melbourne, Australia. Yes, she wore flesh-colored latex. Because why not? And is it just me or has Kim had some fresh work to her catface?
While in Oz, Kim also appeared on a chat show called The Project, and she talked about her photoshoot with Paper Magazine.
Kim Kardashian opened up about the reasons she decided to bare all in her now infamous Paper magazine photo shoot while appearing on Australian TV show The Project — and she even taught show host Rove McManus how to balance a champagne glass on his butt! The reality TV show star was guest of honor on the popular Aussie show on Tuesday, Nov. 18, and reacted to critics who suggested that stripping off in a magazine isn’t a great example for her young fans.
“I was so honored and excited to work with [photographer Jean-Paul Goude] because he is a legend, and for me that was something I wanted to do to make myself feel confident,” she explained. “As a role model I’m not saying anyone else should do that, but for me it was an art project and it taught me to do what you want to do,” she continued. “I’m never one to preach, but I felt really positive and really good about myself. I love the photos, I did it for me, I hope other people like them,” she said. Find out celebs’ reactions to the controversial photos.
Show host McManus admitted to enjoying the photographs himself, but had one question that kept worrying him.
“Can you actually balance a champagne glass on your derriere, or was it all Photoshopped?” he asked his guest who was dressed in a black jumpsuit with plunging neckline.
“My back hurt for about a week after that shoot…I used muscles..,” Kardashian said, faltering. “[Goude] has an art of posing you and it was definitely not comfortable and things were falling all over the place. … We made a big mess on set!”
Ew, did anyone else get grossed out at the thought of Kim posing nude and “we made a big mess on set”?? Girl, you shouldn’t have eaten all that Mexican food! GROSS.
Meanwhile, Anna Wintour defended her decision to put Kim and Kanye on the cover of Vogue earlier this year, but she says it in the most Nuclear Wintour way ever.
Anna Wintour has defended her decision to put Kim Kardashian and Kanye West on the April cover of Vogue, but now it appears she is suggesting that the choice was ‘tasteless’. The magazine editor said at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on Monday: ‘I think if we just remain deeply tasteful and just put deeply tasteful people on the cover, it would be a rather boring magazine!’
She added that even from the very beginning, Vogue was never about pleasing everyone. ‘The first celebrity that I put on the cover of Vogue was Madonna, and that was considered completely controversial at the time, too,’ she explained. ‘It’s such a long time ago probably no one remembers, but she was a very controversial figure. Now she’s part of the establishment.’
Ms Wintour, 65, went on to say that if Vogue didn’t reflect modern culture – even the more provocative figures within it – ‘nobody would talk about us. It’s very important that people do talk about us.’
Yes, I can see her point, subtle shade and all. It would be boring if Wintour only put classy, tasteful, talented people on the cover of Vogue. But the truth is, Vogue is a media outlet like every other outlet and they want to be relevant and hip and controversial and newsworthy. Thus, they put some deeply distasteful people on the cover sometimes.
